Including, of course, my in-laws. I sure miss everyone I am not around. Josh and I are never going to be in a place where both our families live and that is so hard. The best I can do is to really enjoy the family I have near me. And it is really killing me right now to not be near famliy that are nearing the end of their life. I guess my mind is still spinning even after I dumped a bunch on here earlier. I was feeling our ward was a little skimpy on leadership and now they have cut out even more. Not to mention three of our awesome girls, including Kelsey, the one I just posted about. Change is hard for me. But if that was all that was weighing on my mind I would be okay. I am so concerned about the men around us making poor choices. Ones that break the tender hearts of their children and wives. (Okay, so not my husband). Is it even normal for me to be so broken hearted for the widows, fatherless, and faith abandoned? I know mourning with those that mourn is good, but really, this much heart ache? Do I pray that I won't feel so much? I guess not, but in the words of my father-in-law, "Time to move on." Meaning, I need to live my life the best I can, regardless of the heart ache in the world. These are a few of about 100 pictures we took. Most of the pictures are of the Mexican side. The background picture is of the battle field and the Texican side. In March we met up with my mom and dad, aunt Carol and cousin Daniel, Brother Carl and his family Liz, Jacob, Luke, and Christian to attend the annual Goliad Reenactment. Every year a town next to us creates snow by putting ice blocks in a wood chipper or something like that. It is very cute. That and a very few little flurries is all we saw of snow this year. I am not sad about that either. I think I will miss it next year.

I am doing so many posts because I have all these things floating in my head and I just plain need more room in there for other stuff!! I only made it through February's pictures. whew. Other things that are occupying my mind: make strawberry jam. It's a great time. Strawberries are cheap, they are in my fridge, and I spent an hour looking for pectin at the grocery store last night with three boys. make homemade yogurt. My friend Valerie is doing it and she is loving it. My mom used to make it and I liked it then. Find people who want to go in on buying a cow. you know, already dead for eating purposes. preferably one fed on a diet rich in grass. I have a freezer, I need meat. who's with me? Plan a month of menus. yuck. But it is better than living off of "go karts" and nestle quick. thread my sewing machine. kids take off my thread. it bugs me. It's a long story why. Some other day. But after keeping Caleb home for one day, I didn't think it would work juggling the other kids. The next morning Taylor said in his prayer, "thank you that I can get some 'tension' today." He meant, of course, Attention !!

I finally figured out he wanted a Pop Tart.

Our cute laurel, Kelsey is in this movie. We all adore her. She is the one in the trailer who is sitting on the bed in the dorm with big curls in her hair and a brown jacket on. Way to go Kelsey! Kelsey's brother plays Brad and her mom was a co-writer for the movie. Cute for young girls & family friendly.

Yes, this is what I think of when I pass the local high school stadium!! Carroll in blue Converse Judson in red My alma mater, Carroll High School, never beat Converse Judson (our current high school district) in football in it's history. So says brother Andrew. You know, just a little heresaytoid for you. Anyhow, while passing the nearby stadium Taylor marveled saying, "Do they have time-out on those stairs?" Below is a portion of the picture of the band my first year in Texas. I am the tall one in the middle. Crazy blue colors. Luckily we got new uniforms the next year. A memory I will never forgot: We traveled all over south Texas, it seemed, every Friday for football games. I ended up on the freshman/sophomore bus because I moved there during the summer after the sign-up sheets were full. On one of the bus rides a small (young) hispanic girl said, "you remind me of Falcor from Neverending story- because you are BIG and WHITE !" I laughed at the time. I...

Caleb has the simplistic Judeo-Christian belief that Heaven is somewhere in the sky. But Caleb also has the scientific belief that the planets and stars are up there. He knows people have been to outer space. He has seen pictures. It is very real. He loves the planets and takes great pride in knowing their names and some of their features. So how can outerspace and Heaven co-exist? I am glad he is a thinker, but he is also a believer. Josh: how do you get to outerspace? Caleb: spaceship. Josh: how do you get to Heaven? Caleb: (thinking....) you have to have the Holy Gravity. On a different note of Christian science, I love talking about Dinosaurs with Caleb. There are many theories about evolution, carbon dating, God creating the earth...you know what I am talking about. Julie: If dinosaurs lived 220 million years ago, how do they know they existed? When one of our kids wants to use a sharp kitchen knife or shears, we tell them they are not "knife trained". Incidentally Caleb is "butter knife trained." We do talk about training often in a house with a two year old, so I guess it can get a little confusing. Once the kitchen shears were on the table and Taylor pointed to them and said, "I do not want to get potty trained with those ."

Caleb: Taylor, you see, we all have a cycle. First we are babies, then we are kids, then we are adults. mom: where do the babies come from? Caleb: someone's stomach. mom: how do they get in there? Caleb: Well, first you have to pray really hard for a baby and once you get one in your stomach it just happens over and over. You see mom, you have three! Only you didn't pray for the last one. hmmm....

Our church starts at 1 pm so we are trying different times of day to dress the boys in their Sunday clothes. So far it works best to dress them before lunch and cover them up with clothes we can just take off. This is Caleb and Taylor really living it up.
