Weight Loss Contest, 2011

www.lettuceeatcake.weebly.com This year our weight loss contest was fun for me. I loved having so many family members involved. It was also great that Sarah and Ben were number one and three. Congrats to you guys!! Sarah collected $55 and got a winner's T-shirt. The T-shirts were a bit lame and I was especially embarrassed to send them to a graphic designer. Oh well, Lettuceeatcake is a little SILLY, so the T-shirts fit the style!

The anti-climatic Unveiling

Last month I drove Caleb and Eli to Corpus Christi to see my nephew get baptised. It was a nice quiet trip luckily. Anyhow, I started thinking (because I had a chance to thingk) about my weight loss and training goals and I realized that I succed when I have other people to help me. I started thinking about how to do this and I thought, "what if i came up with my own weight loss contest?" Well, here it is: http://www.lettuceeatcake.weebly.com/ If you would like to support me and the others in the contest, sign up now by leaving a comment or e-mailing me at juliebblack@gmail.com Another major reason I am doing this is because of my family's predisposition to get diabetes. (Jonathon Owen, how would I write that better?) Already my mom, dad, and sister have it and another brother who is getting close. We can all use a little motivation to make good health choices!

The Contest is over!

For the last fourteen weeks I have been in the K-mart New Day Your Way weight loss contest. Last year one of the women who won lost 22lbs, so I figured I could do that! Well, I weighed in for the last time today and lost, according to their records 25.5 lbs. I was starting to think I may be in the running. The contest is based on weight loss (BMI), over all appearance, and an essay. Unfortunately I didn't submit my essay on time because I was confused on the dates so unless they have sympathy on me, I am inelligible. I am trying to think the weight loss and health are better than $10,000. I mean, they are great, but not priceless. I would gain 25 lbs for $10,000. Anyway, I got Josh to take this picture of me today to mark the end of my contest. The next fourteen weeks will be devoted to Josh and his goals.
