Our Move to Utah, December 2013

Me following Josh on our move to Utah We didn't pull out our cameras for this journey and I wish we would have, because it was long and eventful. First, we were three and a half days late leaving. This mattered because my Dad's new wife Elaine was taking care of all three kids. They had the kids from the day after Thanksgiving until the next weekend. We hadn't packed any of their clothes because we hadn't planned to have them stay. They were at my dad's house at the land for the weekend and then Elaine brought my kids with her through San Antonio to grab more things and then headed up to her place in Glenn Rose. Her son Grant was with them and they had fun with him.  Our original plan was to join them on Tuesday afternoon. We were going to spend the night and then get an early start.  Unfortunately we didn't leave until F R I D A Y night!  Everything was taking so long to wrap up.  Wouldn't you know it, we had to get $800 worth of work done on our van...

Let's Wrap Things UP in Texas

Well, at the end of Grandma and Grandpa Black's visit, Josh lost his job in San Antonio.  They were just packing up to leave to the airport when Josh came back home from work with the news. Luckily Josh was already planning to switch careers and leave STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING behind.  So in a matter of three weeks we sold everything superfluous and moved to UTAH! One more visit to my mom's grave site.  They still didn't have the marker up. I asked how Josh was feeling about everything...this is the face he gave me. This is a small list of things we were trying to give away or sell My friend Sarah Christensen and I painted the trim on the day we were supposed to be LEAVING because of how much it was going to cost us to have the rental management company do it. In the left corner of the picture, you can see just a small amount of the HUGE amount of garbage we were getting rid of. Too bad I didn't take a cleaned up...

Needless to say...I am a little behind

Between this post and the last Josh interviewed at a job in San Antonio and received a great offer. We decided to make the move and three weeks later we were on the road with everything we own in the world. Yes! Many things happened in that three weeks. -We worked hard on fixing up the house to sell, including replacing light fixtures, touch up paint, patching walls, replacing bedroom carpet, fixing tile, planting flowers out front. - Listing our house, including picking a realtor, finding comparables, taking pictures - Blessing Elijah William Black - Packing up our house -Selling our house. The first people who looked at it made an offer. - My birthday - Saying good-bye to friends - Packing up our Penske - Josh's brother's wedding (Matt & Amanda) - Very tearful good-bye to family - Driving 3 days all day and late into the night to San Antonio Betsy, Laura, LaRee, Jenni, Julie Front: Madison, Jessica, Brittany, Allyson, Dianna All of Josh's...
