Up to my ears

We have a children's CD for Caleb that has a song about lying. One of the phrases says, "you'll be in trouble up to your ears." So today I lost Caleb at Wal-mart. I looked on my own for a while and after several minutes I realized I needed help. I went to the Customer Service dept. and they announced a "Code Adam" with a description for a lost 3 year old boy. I was forced to wait up at the front and watch the doors to make sure nobody left with Caleb while the Wal-mart crew looked for him. I didn't feel as stupid when a mother, having misheard the PDA announcement, came running up to the front thinking they had found her 3 year old son. We stood there together shaking our heads about 3 year olds, trying to laugh about it, but feeling extremely worried for them. It turns out Caleb was in the book section about 6 feet in front of me, but over a high wall. After the incident Caleb wanted me to buy him some candy and I said "no, you are...

happy mom

Today I am happy to be a mother of my two boys. In this picture of Taylor at seven weeks old, he looks just like baby Caleb.

Happy Labor Day!

Growing up

Today Taylor was on Caleb's bed. I was telling Caleb that Taylor is growing fast because he wants to be big enough to play. Caleb said, "yeah, he's growing up on my bed."

ADHD

I have been diagnosed with ADHD. I never realized how funny, yet frustrating it is. For example, one of the worst things a person with ADD can do is let their prescription for ritalin run out because in a scatter brained state nobody ever goes back in. I let mine run out about five years ago.

Carson Wheels

Carson and Audrey running in the back at Caleb's third birthday Some kids like to be spiderman or superman. Some like to be ferocious animals. Caleb wants to be a Carson . Carson is his cousin. For the past few days Caleb has been saying I am a Carson and I can do Carson Wheels.

Body for Life Savers

Do you want a Body for Life Saver? Today Caleb asked if Life Savers were called "Body for Life." Then he asked, "Do we do Body for Life?" Josh would say "We do Body for two weeks!"

City dwellers

What are the chances that the guy walking down the street in the city happens to be the one city dweller you know? Today it was! You think, wouldn't that be funny if that was Matt? He's got the same hair...and wait...aren't those Chuck Taylors? And then he looks up and it is him. So you have like 30 seconds to frantically wave down the guy and everyone can see you but the lone man across the intersection from you. I guess it is true that city folk don't make eye contact. I almost called the guy on the phone and said, "hey, I'm trying to wave at you!" But why would a city dweller think he knows the crazy lady in an old mini van with kids?
